Dr. Andrew R. Woollock is a scholar and educator with over 25 years of experience in transnational higher education, including 21 years in Asia. He has held senior academic positions such as tenured Associate Professor at Daito Bunka University (Japan), Full-time Lecturer at Gifu Shotoku Gakuen University, and Associate Director of Programmes and Acting Head of Fashion at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton (China campus).
He holds a Ph.D. from Queen’s University Belfast, where his doctoral research, fully funded by the Department of Employment and Learning, explored socially engaged arts. He also earned an M.Ed. from the University of Southern Queensland (Australia), an M.A. in Photography from Nottingham Trent University (UK), a First-Class B.A. (Hons) in Graphic Design/Photography from Southampton Institute (UK), and an ND in Graphic Design from Lincolnshire College of Art & Design (UK).
With extensive expertise in teaching, research, and academic management, he has also served on multiple steering and academic committees. Dr. Woollock is an interdisciplinary researcher with numerous international publications, as well as a practicing artist in photography and visual arts. His strong background in UK quality assurance and wide-ranging international experience bring a global perspective that bridges creativity and practice in education
